Why give?
Studies have documented the Wilderness School’s positive impact on the adolescents attending the program.
The Friends of the Connecticut Wilderness School fundraises to support these initiatives:
Create scholarships to attend the WS, for young people in need, beyond what is supported by Department of Children and Families.
• Broaden and offer more extensive opportunities for continued involvement with the School for current WS participants and graduates.
• Fund special projects including an updated WS film, scholarships to Outward Bound, The National Outdoor Leadership School, and other adventure experiences, to deepen the Wilderness School’s learnings.
• Provide tuition assistance for college or vocational training or other educational personal growth experiences for graduates.
• Support priorities approved by the School’s Director and staff.
Every penny raised by the Friends of the Connecticut Wilderness School goes directly to our mission of enhancing and supporting the School’s impact on youth. We are committed to sustaining and growing the Wilderness School’s transformative and positive effect upon our lives.
